We are in the heart of Sarcidano, 60 km north of Cagliari, 65 east of Oristano, on the southern border of the province of Nuoro. We are between Campidano, Marmilla and Barbagia.
It is the most heart of the most Island, with agricultural and pastoral vocation, from landscapes that run after each other in colored scenes: green oak forests and vine varieties, yellow wheat. It is the Sardinia with immense plains and curious highlands that rise on the horizon - as the Giara of Gesturi visible from the Estate.
The property extends on over 20 hectares, 16 of which are vineyards. We leave on purpose the other 4 to the cultivation of fruit trees and fodder production - to feed our two carthorses, Vegas and Dinette - arrived in the Company from France in May 2014.
What we do and how we are called, said in stone at the entrance of the Estate.
Soils of medium texture with a good amount of sand and gravel allow an excellent drainage of the soil, capable of escorting in depth the abundant spring and winter rainwater.
It is our secret to accumulate water reserves for the summer, which is why our grapevines have a balanced amount of leaves and reach excellent ripeness of polyphenols.
The land is rich in marl and sandstone, more or less clayey and sandy dating back to Miocene.
Soil and rows: our treasure
With measured steps we follow our carthorses
The land: our primary resource
The proximity to the mountains of Gennargentu acts as a thermal flywheel: here the mild and continuous ventilation mitigates the summer heat ensuring a large temperature range between day and night.
These are breezes that dry the air creating optimal conditions for a perfect health state of the grapes.
